Endgame Promotes Jamie Butler to Chief Technology Officer

With an extensive security and risk mitigation research background spanning the U.S. government and the cyber forensics landscape, Butler brings his deep knowledge to ensure Endgame’s products and services meet the demand of today’s security requirements.

In his new role, Butler is charged with helping Endgame identify emerging threats and threat vectors, focusing not only on current customer challenges but also the future of attacks and the methods to protect against them. Under his leadership, Endgame’s R&D team will expand to more than 25 researchers in 2016, focusing on discovering new approaches for mitigating endpoint attacks. Additionally, Butler is responsible for directing one of the largest security data science teams in the industry, tasked with creating sophisticated detection products.

Butler was a computer scientist at the National Security Agency and co-authored the bestselling book Rootkits: Subverting the Windows Kernel. A recognized leader in attack and detection techniques, he has over 17 years of experience and knowledge in operating system security that will augment Endgame’s ability to identify attack patterns and help its customers better defend against advanced threats.
