Shelley Leibowitz Advisor

Shelley Leibowitz is a leader among technology professionals, with an outstanding track record of strategy formulation and effective execution in the private and public sectors. 

Ms. Leibowitz sits on the Board of Directors and Risk Oversight Committee of E*Trade Financial Corporation. Ms. Leibowitz also has a significant portfolio of strategic consulting and advisory work.

In 2009, Ms. Leibowitz was appointed by Robert B. Zoellick, 11th President of the World Bank, to be the Bank’s first Group-wide Chief Information Officer. The World Bank, part of the United Nations system, provides developing countries with grants, leveraged loans, guarantees, and policy advice to improve economic and social conditions worldwide.

In her role as Chief Information Officer, Ms. Leibowitz was responsible for the technology services and capabilities that underlie the work of delivering quality knowledge and financing products to Bank Group clients across the globe. As well, Ms. Leibowitz oversaw the World Bank’s Library and Archives, supporting the history of the institution and providing development information, research assistance, and training to Bank and outside constituencies; she managed the World Bank’s comprehensive Cybersecurity program; and she served as a member of the Bank’s Pension Investment Committee. 

Previously, Ms. Leibowitz held Chief Information Officer positions at Investment Risk Management/Duff Capital Advisors, Morgan Stanley, Greenwich Capital Markets, and Barclays Capital. Ms. Leibowitz served as Board member and Technology Advisor for GAIN Capital, a global provider of foreign exchange execution and clearing services with an award winning trading platform, now listed on the NYSE.
